What is VTI?

How Do We Measure Digital Trust?

Dynamic Score

VTI is not a static number — it updates daily based on actual activity and accumulated reputation.

Scale 0–100

Every institution and talent receives a score from 0 (untrusted) to 100 (fully trusted).

Multi-Factor

Combines verification, issuance volume, student satisfaction, compliance, and activity — for a holistic assessment.

Institution VTI

5 Factors Measuring Institution Trust

VR

Verification Rate (VR)

Percentage of certificates actually verified by third parties.

35%
IV

Issuance Volume (IV)

Total certificates issued — logarithmic scaling (log₁₀) ensures fairness between large and small institutions.

25%
SR

Satisfaction Rate (SR)

Average ratings from students and graduates for the institution's educational services.

20%
IC

Info Completeness (IC)

How complete the institution profile is: logo, description, address, contact info, etc.

10%
LC

Last Activity (LC)

Is the institution active? Recently issuing institutions score higher.

10%
VTI = VR × 0.35 + IV × 0.25 + SR × 0.20 + IC × 0.10 + LC × 0.10
Talent VTI

4 Factors Measuring Talent Credibility

TI

Trust Inheritance (TI)

Weighted average VTI of institutions that issued your certificates — stronger institutions boost your score.

45%
CD

Certificate Diversity (CD)

Unique courses (60%) + unique issuers (40%). Diversity proves breadth of skills.

25%
DS

Digital Shelf (DS)

Profile completeness: photo, bio, specialization, location, and contact info.

15%
PC

Profile Certificates (PC)

Total verified certificates in your digital wallet.

15%
VTI = TI × 0.45 + CD × 0.25 + DS × 0.15 + PC × 0.15
Trust Inheritance

Your Institution's Trust = Your Trust

Trust Inheritance is the most powerful factor in Talent VTI (45%). The idea is simple: if you earn a certificate from a high-VTI institution, your score rises automatically.

The system calculates the weighted average VTI of all institutions that issued you certificates. This incentivizes students to choose reputable institutions, and motivates institutions to improve quality.

Example

University of Annaba VTI 85
Private Training Center VTI 62
Student Trust Inheritance (85 + 62) / 2 = 73.5

Decay Mechanics

Grace Period 30 days
Decay Rate -5% / 30 days
Minimum Floor 30%
Amplification Ceiling +15% max
Trust Decay

Trust Requires Continuous Maintenance

If an institution stops activity, its score gradually decreases by 5% every 30 days after a 30-day grace period. It never drops below 30% of the original value.

Conversely, active institutions receive amplification up to 15% above the base score — a reward for consistency and engagement.

FAQ

Trust Score Questions

How can I improve my institution's VTI score?
Focus on: completing your institution profile fully, issuing certificates regularly, getting positive student ratings, and ensuring your certificates are actually being verified by employers.
Can my score drop to zero?
No. The Trust Decay system has a floor at 30%, meaning the lowest possible score after decay is 30% of the base value. Only suspended or banned accounts can reach zero.
As a student, how do I benefit from VTI?
VTI makes your certificates more credible. The higher your score, the more employers trust your profile. Earn certificates from high-VTI institutions and complete your profile to boost your score.
What's the difference between Institution VTI and Talent VTI?
Institution VTI measures the quality and reliability of the institution as a certificate issuer (5 factors). Talent VTI measures individual credibility based on certificates and issuers (4 factors) — inheriting 45% of issuing institutions' trust.
Does VTI replace official paper certificates?
No. VTI is a complementary index adding a digital trust layer on top of certificates. Algeria Certify is an innovative service working alongside — not replacing — the official system.
